A Question of Faith

silhouettes all around me
they don't laugh they cry
lost my innocence today
the 12 hour on the 3rd of may

i felt your eyes wash over me
a brutal sense of desire
should we both go our separate ways
these are the hardest words to say

the sign it says for sale
but it doesn't mention the heart
the picture frame begins to weep
a story it doesn't wanna keep

a child lost his youth today
a simple turn of the key
wisdom spread her wings wide

spaces in-between
spaces on the outside

life is but a butterflies dream
cascading memories
feel the brewing storm of despair
i've got the courage to look inside
the answer is there

some people say that love is a chain
a cloud over human kind
but is it the spark that glistens bright
a fire to those that seek the light

we all hit the road running
a pulsing race to come first
drives you to the brink of insanity
buries you deep
deep in self pity

continue to strive
but never quite touch
my own state of wellbeing
won't you meet me can't you see me
i'm trembling on my knees

complacently i hear the call of the wild
it brings me back tattered and torn
never forget who you are
a king of kings
a star amongst stars

a man found his smile today
lost it years ago
as the sun settles in the evening sky
stretch out your hand
reach up high
a man found his smile today
